  1. Is it just me, or does it drive you mad too when people are just like - “x isn’t working”, “x is not responding, throwing a weird error” etc. Like what the fuck is not working? Can you be more specific? Can you share the error? What do you think has gone wrong? You’re a fucking senior engineer stop whining like a baby.

  2. Yes It's not that hard to implement algorithm fast in C++ once you're comfortable with it

  3. If anything, I think C++ code is more direct than Python. For example, the types make it easy to understand how the candidate is breaking down or formulating the data structures they are working with. Also, the way C++ is, it requires you to be specific with your intentions - are you using const& or & for large arrays, etc. I think it’s a good language to interview in.

  4. I’m burnt out from my current job. Everyday feels like a burden. I’m overworked and tired everyday. I’m not able to do anything on the weekends because I just sleep. I’m not able to study for interviews because of this. What should I do?

  5. Don't worry -- every single one of us has had to do the exact same thing.

  6. thank you, this was encouraging

  8. i see in your post history you’ve initiated a lot of meet ups - serious question, how often does it work out - and how often have you kept in touch with people you’ve met on those

  9. sir, those are not fancy.. git bisect?.. hmm now it’s interesting but i’m sure none of the fancy ones are used regularly

  10. Just out of curiosity, which company is this?

  11. probably the company where people make “day in the life of swe” videos, now wherever that company is.

  12. damn 40 people is a lot my introvert ass couldn’t handle it

  13. there’s too many people now :(

  14. oddly amusing and informative i’ll try this approach

  15. wow i would be so down for this i’m so mad i’m only seeing this now 😞

  16. Start interviewing, build a portfolio, contribute to open source. Sometimes you may have to decide between building a portfolio and contributing to open source - building a portfolio seems easier maybe do one or two solid projects to put on your resume.

  17. Yeah, thing is he and I aren’t that close. so I don’t know when next time will be!

  18. this guy is an actual lunatic. unfollowed him bc he simps a lot on women-techfluencers

  19. I would drop the “cum” gpa. i know it’s cumulative - but it isn’t a bad gpa that you need to split it between in cumulative and major. just keep one (pref cumulative.)

  20. Thanks for the advice! That’s why I’m posting to see how people react to these things. The general reaction is negative so I should def get rid of it.

  21. I think it can be a funny joke - I think a new school gen Z startup-y place might appreciate it, but in-person. you can throw it in the interview with a chuckle and they’ll get it. but resume is hard to convey the mood.

  22. No, cracking CAT and getting in top IIM's is not any easier than cracking FAANG.

  23. cracking CAT is way way harder than FAANG lol. Yeah FAANG interviews are hard, but probably easier than most things that are hard.

  24. i have an interview with aws, they asked me to skip the assessment and go straight to the phone screen. recruiter mentioned that phone screen will largely be based on leadership principles? does anyone have an idea of what i can expect in the phone screen and on site afterwards?

  25. i have an interview with aws, they asked me to skip the assessment and go straight to the phone screen. recruiter mentioned that phone screen will largely be based on leadership principles? does anyone have an idea of what i can expect in the phone screen and on site afterwards?

  26. how was your interviewing experience? what is the nature of your work?

  27. There are two kids of people.
