I use pencil as well this was literally me trying something else but I’m glad to get help I genuinely wanna get better lol
I get what you mean like pens have a way more stronger look to them but it is just harder to use them but good luck on improving your pen art skills!

Well the thing with hands which I’m still learning is you can pull of the illusion of anything I tried to pull off 5 fingers, but curved in a way. Ultimately I feel like it’s up to the audience to decide what they want to see in the art. Like you can pick how many fingers you want to see.

Any advice on understanding values like in portraits? Like my Instagram is @dev_tv and like I’m slowly understanding it but i want to draw more realism. I think I get it confused because I have to practice more on anatomy and tips 😭
Are you working from live reference? Photos are great but live reference really shows the values.
