If I am selling you 10 apples in a store and I am charging you a million each , but suddenly a guy sells next to me for a dollar each. The first time anyone buys thatapple from him the market price will go down to a dollar. It doesn’t matter that I am selling mine for a million - the liquid price was just set to be one dollar .
It can't actually be this simple though can it? If it were, then surely the hedge funds would just spam regular $0.01 sells, to set the price, then immediately huge volume buys. Then set the price to 1 gillion and do massive sells of their zillion shares. Obviously not.

The guy doesn’t take any advice of any people here who know what they’re doing. It’s all well and good if it’s his money but he’s like “I’m not taking donations here my wallet address” anyone who knows what they’re doing would’ve just bought a 36 or 45 bay JBOD and filled it with disks. This guy needs $1000 in cases $500 in PSUs $1000 in motherboards and $1000 in ram and whatever money for whatever else. Instead of $800 for a JBOD and the rest for drives. Just roll your eyes and move on.
Find me a jbod that can scale to 1tb of ram eventually that isn’t loud as hell and expensive as hell, and I’ll happily agree I was wrong. These machines were designed for reliability (hence air cooling and not custom loop) and long term investment (the big ones can be upgraded to a twin cpu setup for example). Yes getting a server rack and filling that would be / might be easier but fitting that into a flat in London isnt the easiest thing. If I need to move 1,2 or 3 elsewhere for geographic reasons it’s super easy to decouple 1 or two or three. I am approaching it differently, yes, for what’s working for me 👍
