  1. I have NO clue how I was allowed to do a report on this guy (WITH PICS) in 10th grade.

  2. Hey! Atleast you are about of the psychic gang!

  3. Hmm.. Maybe some kind of “catch all” element for any energy that doesn’t fit any of the other elements?

  4. Hmm...I don't think abstract elements will fit my setting. It'll be difficult to explain what knowledge for example could influence in nature? The kind of animals you could have?

  5. Admitting I think “passion” would’ve been a better example considering I was thinking more in the romantic side of things. But your point still stands.

  6. Context: this is a picture sent by the soldier at the right to his mother with the caption "I'm ok mom" after successfully defending an old surface city from an incoming floater invasion.

  7. I always like seeing alien-looking aliens in sci-fi! So about this unification between Tripods: Is it more like an alliance/pact between different nations like the EU or is it more like a singular national entity?

  8. I mean like, how am I suppose to represent stuff like cacophonic screeching and ground vibrations as words? There’s not a single alien in my project that has a language pronounceable in human tongue.

  9. Wait what happens if someone were to gain control over chemistry relating to biology? Like say the ability to manipulate amino acids or nucleotides? Or are those a bit too “complex” for someone to control?

  10. If they're blind, how did the Cyroids know there was anything beyond the atmosphere? I can't see echo location being very practical, in that regard.

  11. Well for starters due to the distance from their sun and the thickness of their hydrocarbon-rich atmosphere there’s like, virtually zero light that reaches the surface, it’s because of this reason the closest analogue to “plants” they have rely on chemosynthesis via using hydrocarbons in the atmosphere instead of photosynthesis.

  12. NGL this feels less like “A.I.” and more like Machine Spirits from Warhammer 40K.

  13. Really? I always thought that these guys and gals were suppose to just have only a superficial resemblance to cephalopods and weren’t true cephalopods.

  14. Why do you find them to be terrifying? Sure they are alien but absolutely nothing about them strikes as terrifying to me.
