Men in America are 73% of national lawmakers, run 81% of businesses, are 70% of those making six figures or more, 87% of millionaires and 73% of all positions in STEM fields. Don’t ever let anti-feminists tell you that we live in some kind of ‘feminized’ country where men are the true oppressed

  1. Please. 90% of jobs are sit around and do the same things over and over again. The majority of the human population could do them with enough experience. That includes STEM. It isn't that hard to anything you have already done 500 times before.

  2. Without contradicting you, do you have any references for the reviews of which you speak? For the link I just grabbed the first paper that fit the bill from Google scholar. I would really like to see the review of the paper you're talking about. I work and am heavily invested in getting more women in STEM. My colleagues are aware of the literature but I've never heard anybody talk about segregation as a variable underlying this - I would be happy to bring it to their attention. It sounds entirely reasonable.

  3. Sorry, I don't have any such reviews. I just remember a study that sounds similar to the one you are talking about (perhaps the same one?) that kept being spammed in MRA forums a while back to supposedly "prove" women "just biologically/naturally don't like STEM."

  4. Good. I truly believe most humans want to be good people, they just need nudges in that direction sometimes.

  5. Some are, but this thread is off topic to this sub.

  6. Which is weird that is going to happen. In Leviticus, it very explicitly states that if you harm a pregnant woman and she loses the child, you are to be executed as a murderer.

  7. This is off topic, but no, the Bible actually says the exact opposite.

  8. That verse refers to an accidental situation, not a deliberate act.

  9. Fair enough. But, my main point is that the verse most definitely does not say that the penalty for causing a pregnant woman to miscarry is execution, which was the claim above.

  10. Your friend has classic "nice guy" mentality. Women's inability to perfectly mind read people when they get into relationships apparently means ""women choose"" to date toxic people.

  11. I also watched this series, and it was addictive all the way through.

  12. I agree that there needs to be more attention/fairness given to boys in class, but I have a slight nitpick here:

  13. I'm assuming most of the concept of a guy being "too nice" comes from men that are actually complete a-holes, but are completely oblivious to this fact. (see also

  14. OP never mentioned 50/50 representation in their post and I'm not sure why people keep asking this.

  15. No one said anything remotely of the sort. No offense, but it seems like you are just trying to pick a fight here where there is none.

  16. Certain feminists are basically the only group of people that have fought for including women in the draft. (And, also, the left in general is the primary group that has fought for no draft at all while we are at it).

  17. I kind of feel guilty for not reading the entire thing, because you clearly put a significant amount of thought into this. However, I always think the easiest solution is to just check

  18. I don't remember anything too bad in the Witcher, but I haven't watched it in a while.

  19. I honestly don't remember much from season one. This was season two. None of these two scenes were nude, no nips and shit showing but in my opinion it was clear as day that they were still a male viewer fantasy.

  20. I vaguely remember the heating the pool scene, and I didn't get the impression it was intended to be objectifying. It seemed more like it was about showing vulnerability.

  21. Women already can compete with men if they wish to do so. There are two chess tournaments: The one anyone can join and the women's only one.

  22. This has been posted multiple times and at this point I almost suspect Karma farming.

  23. Just because some of the conservatives that don't support women or minorities happen to also be women and minorities themselves doesn't change the situation.

  24. While true, the Democrat party is also conservative and neo-liberal. They want to preserve the status-quo as much as Republicans want to bring back "the good ol' days."

  25. The main purpose of the Democratic party at this point is to simply stall the Republican destruction to a stand-still until we can figure out what strikes to organize.

  26. Wouldn't it be smarter to look at each issue individually and come to a logical conclusion on it instead of just arbitrarily making yourself be "in the center" just to be "in the center"?

  27. Ah, this reminds me of my ex's family gatherings.

  28. To get to the point your getting noticed you would have to play ranked in games your probably the only girl in the game. Why would it not bother you when its just ranked then bother you when your a pro that makes no sense to me.

  29. The vast majority of women hide their gender when playing video games most of the time.

  30. I mean its not like guys dont get shit talked its just not for being a guy, being a pro gamer puts u in a situation where its very easy to see negative comments and thats true almost across the board, but i dont think if ur joining an actual org and an actual team ur teammates are going to be flaming you for being a girl.

  31. I'm not the person you were talking to, but I can't help but wonder...

  32. It has been empirically demonstrated that generally, gay men are primarily attracted to other men by phallometric research(measuring hard ons in response to porn basically).

  33. Contrary to what many on reddit seem to think, there is no law of the universe that requires both sides of a political spectrum to be equal in all things. In fact, if anything, it would be highly unlikely for both sides to be perfectly equally corrupt and misinformed.

  34. I'm not trying to be mean, but you and your daughter both need therapy.

  35. I suspect when people say "not all masculinity is toxic" they are trying to counter the frequent misconception (or in some cases intentional misframing) that the phrase "toxic masculinity" means men themselves are toxic.

  36. You are correct that women can be sexist against men, but I'm not sure if it is any more ignored than men being sexist against women. I guess it depends on which parts of the internet you frequent.
