  1. Actually laughed during the trailer. Hope those aren't the only funny parts.

  2. Difference between a sickness and a mental illness. That scum is sick. He is not mentally ill.

  3. Also the meme pretty much spoils the mystery, but it’s still fun.

  4. Interesting idea. I think replacing either Turturro or Nelson would have felt too much like a Down by Law retread. Having him play Pappy or Stokes, probably wouldn’t have felt right either. I don’t think he could have played a (non-creepy) political sycophant. Clearly, Tommy is out as well. I think he would have been too old to be a realistic Waldrip. He’s not big enough to be Teague. And he doesn’t have a “baby face,” so that’s out, too. So that really just leaves Sherriff Cooley, Wash Hogwallop or the Radio Station Manager, unless you want it to be a true cameo, like Gillian Welch’s. I think what Stephen Root did with the Radio Station Manager was perfect for the role. And again, he might have seemed too old to have a boy that age as Wash. I liked Daniel Von Bargen as “the devil” Sheriff in this and a lot of other stuff, but if they wanted to put Tom in the movie, that would have been a good fit. Of course, they could have used him as the Blind Seer, but choosing a black actor for that role, just seems to be better.

  5. Oh fuck off, Caitlyn, you have not. There’s not a single woman at the “apex of her field” that doesn’t jump at every chance to tell people how much she knows.

  6. I think you are wrong about A Mighty Wind. It’s so much more than just okay.

  7. Yeah, A Mighty Wind is actually better than Best in Show and arguably better or at least just as good as Tap. All the elements came together perfectly in that film and everyone just nailed it. Tap has a wild, unpredictability because it was their first time doing it (and our first time watching it), so Wind can certainly feel more controlled than Tap. But Wind is a much tighter film, so maybe just it boils down to personal preference.

  8. I was lucky enough to see the live performance version of it when it came to Philadelphia years ago. Almost everybody in the cast was there and it was such a good time.

  9. We drove up to Town Hall in NYC and it was seriously one of the best shows I've ever seen.

  10. It blows my mind that there are apparently people out there who think formula is somehow bad or unmotherly. I just don't understand it. Feed the baby whatever you are able to. What the hell is wrong with people?

  11. Solely from the trailer . . . it looks like any time the filmmakers don't know what to do with the plot, they just insert some kind of dance party and then, magically, the plot advances. Hopefully, the film is better than this.

  12. Elon is working every second of every day of the year except for the 8 hours of sleep he gets at night.

  13. You can’t just say the movie without explanation!

  14. Not the OP, but I think I can suggest some reasons why.

  15. Thank God. The IMDB page only lists it as the General. I'm glad that it's just an oversight on their part and not on the part of the filmmakers.

  16. They overdid it on the footsteps. Also, once they switched to night, it looked less real IMO.

  17. First of all: pointing this out does not exonerate or otherwise excuse the conservatives who voted the way they did. They are the ones who are to blame for this. That said: Damn, right she could have. I know she was a heroine to many, but she was 79 years old when Obama was re-elected. She had no business hanging on for another 4 years. And kudos to Breyer for stepping down.

  18. Mitchell getting twisted into knots is my favorite part of the Mortimer appearances.

  19. Leaning tower of Pisa, just a small town without much going on, then a ton of tourists pretending to hold it up. Go to Florence instead.

  20. Watched a video by a famous travel guy, who I trust that said Pisa was underrated and worth a visit.

  21. A much better film than anyone would have guessed. My hypothesis is that Reese Witherspoon is a pretty smart person and would only do a film like this if it actually did make sense and wasn't stupid.

  22. In this case, I don’t think prosecution will be their problem. Rather, they got the most prestigious clerkship in the United States and leaked a draft. Their legal career is finished.

  23. And their career as a FoxNews legal analyst and eventual candidate has begun.

  24. I still think it should be America the Beautiful.

  25. Critics, say "You'll be running up that hill to see this movie!"

  26. "He can spend three minutes filming De Niro's spoon in a coffee cup and never lose the audience's rapt attention"
