1. There are a few cool Easter eggs like this. For portrait of a lady on fire it’s flames instead of stars. For dune the instead of the eye being green when marked as watched it’s blue. And this one scared the shit out of me when I first saw it. If you’re on letterboxd after midnight and you move your phone too fast a gremlin runs across your screen. Most unexpected jumpscare of my life

  2. Definitely Titanic. I just find it to be such a glorious achievement in story telling and special effects. It is a film that I can turn on anytime and be immediately drawn into. I’m not sure exactly what does it but I just love it.

  3. I picked up the Bergman set as well as a blind buy. Pretty excited to dive in.

  4. Time Bandits is a great fantastical odyssey. I just watched it for the first time the other day, myself.

  5. Didn't see it on your list of watched films so a definite recommend for a movie I just watched for the first time was The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Excellent cinematography by Roger Deakins and the best performance I've seen Brad Pitt give in a film.

  6. I recommend to not read the book before watching the movies, it might spoil them.

  7. Thanks for the tip. Do you suggest following their recommended viewing order?

  8. Another fun fact, the gas sold at Dinoco is made of the characters from the good dinosaur.

  9. The whole gas station is a "Dinoco" station (source: my 4 year old is obsessed with all 4 Toy Story's so I've recently seen them no less then 100x)

  10. Do you like the movies of Ingmar Bergman? If you do, then it's hands down the best value in the collection at roughly $4.50 per movie. If you do not, then it probably isn't worth buying. If you're not sure, then I'd say watch a Bergman movie or two between now and the 31st.

  11. I meant investment in the, worth spending a larger sum of money on a full collection of films that aren’t all well knows.

  12. Alfonso Cuarón's Roma. A gorgeous film that I knew I needed to own the first time that I saw it on Netflix. I was thrilled that Criterion had released it. I don't think I have ordered a bluray so fast.

  13. I don't trust people who don't let their food touch. It just feels unnatural.

  14. Some of my favorites in here. I have to check out My Own Private Idaho now.

  15. Thanks! I hope you enjoy it when you check it out.

  16. Attenborough: And here, we see the ever resourceful excavator perform a barrel roll maneuver to escape the crane-predators' clutches.

  18. Plain yogurt, strawberries and coconut granola. Yummm

  19. If you are open minded to the addition of more modern music and aren't a complete purist, I think you will really enjoy it. It is STUNNING to look at and the choreography is unbelievable. The Act Two opener had my jaw on the floor. Definitely worth it!

  20. It hasn’t aged well. Within the first 5 minutes it has a transphobic joke where the “joke” is that someone has a voice that sounds like a person of the opposite gender. It also includes a ‘man in a dress’ joke.

  21. The joke is that he is a little boy who hasn’t hit puberty yet. I am a 33 year old man who still gets people who say, “thank you ma’am”. It happens lol.
