  1. Now think about Southern Illinois republicans trying to garner support to break Chicago off from the rest of the state. Lol

  2. Not a Republican, but did live in southern Illinois for a long time. The resentment is kinda justified. The whole area is falling apart largely because Chicago sucks up every drop of the states subsidies.

  3. Chicago pays into the state far more than the south part of the state. I used to live in Springfield for what it’s worth

  4. Yeah well if you go down to carbondale things are BAD. Just because one part of a state contributes the most doesn’t justify letting other parts go to shit.

  5. Great news! I’m not overly patriotic, but America invented semiconductor chips and revolutionized the world in the process! Its long past due to bring this skill back to our country full force and continue our legacy of world class innovation!

  6. How about none of that bullshit and just it’s better to make things we use here so they can’t be held over our head?

  7. I mean obviously. That doesn’t mean it can’t also be a point of pride.

  8. Most cases of cpr will have a broken rib or two. Victim should be happy they are alive, but people are assholes.

  9. I took an emt course once and fun fact cpr fails 9/10 times.

  10. Full strength in wallet, maybe. It'll take the better part of the next decade to build and scale production from these fabs.

  11. Of course something like this costs money and doesn’t happen overnight. What’s ur point?

  12. The point is on the top of your head.

  13. Lmao people will always find a reason to be angry about good things won’t they

  14. nah, seinfeld was better ... the additional constraints placed on them by the network and advertisers forced the writers to really come up with some great ideas. Curb has no constraints and it is too improvisational for my taste.

  15. The lack of constraints is what makes curb so great. Could just be that it was before my time but Seinfeld is just kinda bland.

  16. This sub really needs to stop with this whole recent anti meat narrative. Outside of political interference group opinion is the primary controlling factor in adoption of sustainable practices and this is not the way to get people on board. I’m a huge proponent of making things more sustainable, but this is just not something that’s practical to get behind from a environmental benefit/harm to public opinion standpoint.

  17. The problem is that it really can't be made all that much more sustainable. Even the worst producers of plant protein come out ahead compared to the best-case production of meat

  18. That’s not what I’m saying, my point is that this whole anti meat movement run affront to public opinion and only serves as fodder for people pushing back against the sustainability movement. The fact of the matter is meat consumption is not only something we’re biologically evolved for, but also a significant on a broad cultural level. It’s just not a reasonable expectation for people to stop doing something that’s been part of our biology since before history. These efforts would be much better placed and well received elsewhere.

  19. Just wait till the post dog murder polls come out…

  20. Idk man I think we should move forward together not as nations but as residents of earth

  21. Sorry earth has no place for authoritarians that shit on human rights and expect the rest of us to be cool with it.

  22. Agreed. This is the one time I wished a pitbull went full pitbull on someone.

  23. This just proves the point that pit bulls aren’t bad by nature and the unfortunate incidents of them attacking can be chalked up to abusive owners.

  24. Huh the more you know. Really too bad they didn’t press the issue a bit more could’ve saved millions from unnecessary famine and given the chance for a billion+ to have basic human rights today!

  25. China became a superpower that pulled hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and it was the decisions of Mao and his successors that got them there and no amount of seethe and cope will ever change that.

  26. Might wanna check ur history there buddy. Mao killed 50+ million people because of his bone headed agricultural policies and decimated human rights along the way. The only reason China is even in its economic position today is because the west ALLOWED them into the free market back in 1978, and had the good will not to shut them out for good after the Tiananmen Square Massacre. Also China to this day isn’t even considered a fully developed country largely in part because of poverty rates 😂cope.

  27. Lmao you can’t “ban crypto” that’s literally the whole point🥴

  28. There's a reason normal people cannot make any money mining, because farms have taken over. It's very easy to ban bitcoin farms.

  29. It’s not the structural engineers fault your design is impractical

  30. I study environmental sustainability and sure meat consumption isn’t the greatest thing in the world for the environment, but you know what? It’s a drop in the bucket compared to the real factors contributing to climate change. I find it kind of weird just how fixated this sub has become on vilification of meat consumption, yet disregards the significantly greater damage done by more widely normalized personal activities like using Amazon prime. The idea that personal meat consumption has a greater bearing on climate compared to personal use of Amazon prime or overpopulation is nothing short of propaganda by oil companies and the larger global market. At the end of day meat consumption isn’t the real problem, it’s ur addiction to cheaply influenced consumerism.

  31. And the worst part is the vegans are too proud to admit it because they have to justify their lifestyle. They’d rather pick on their fellow man than picket oil barons.

  32. It’s funny because these same people do considerably more harm to the environment with their prime membersHips than any regular meat eater could ever reasonably do😂if

  33. I don't get why he is bringing up Cuba of all places but I do think the sex toys are new, or at least I don't think I've seen them. But they have always(as far as my memory serves) sold condoms and lube and the pharmacy sells plan b. I'm not sure why this guy is trying to stir up public outcry but I don't recall any big to do about Walmart selling these things.

  34. Cuba is the name of a town in missouri 😂

  35. Ah thanks, I didn't know now there was a Cuba, Missouri... Makes a lot more sense now! Lol

  36. Haha yeah, Missouri’s weird like that. We also have Mexico, Paris, Memphis, Miami, Nevada, and even Milan!

  37. I dont know about USA but in south korea if the teacher didn't beat the shit out of adhd kids to get them be quiet other students parents would demand the school to fire the teacher

  38. It would be national news if that happened in the US and anybody was recording

  39. Lmao not exactly… corporal punishment is actually still legal in a lot of places in America and just became legal again in missouri. Also most private schools can get away with a lot more even on top of that. When I was in grade school (private) about 10 years ago teachers would regularly discipline kids by making them put their hands on a table and smacking them with a ruler. If you had a nice teacher they might give you the option of running laps around the school for an hour instead. This kinda stuff happen a LOT more than you would imagine.

  40. Well that’s pretty messed up. It’s unfortunate that teachers and parents alike can’t recognize that hyperactivity is pretty normal for most children at a certain age.

  41. This isn’t as frugal as it is silly, no offense. The few cents your saving will never add up. May as well do just about anything else instead snd you’d probably never notice the difference

  42. Not just silly, but potentially dangerous!

  43. The biggest problem facing widespread adoption of realistic sustainable practices is obviously getting the general public on board with such practices. This whole recent wave of pushing “insect based proteins” as a reasonable alternative to meat is the antithesis of that point. Stuff like this might as well be funded by oil companies because outside of political influence I see no greater barrier to getting the general public on board with realistic sustainable practices than pushing unpalatable ideas such that insects are an acceptable alternative to animal based protein for the general public. Stuff like this literally gives those pushing against sustainable practices fodder to fire back as propaganda against our movement!

  44. Did I mention I bailed on Civil engineering for Architectural Design 😂. MJ and i have no regard for the forces of nature, it's more fun this way

  45. As someone currently studying CE I don’t blame you at all 😂

  46. That's too good, may the force be with you! Not on you.. or against your structures 🙏

  47. 😂I’m dying, thanks for this! literally just the motivation I needed to get out of bed and go study steel design lol

  48. https://www.shopritesmokeshop.ca/ice-cubes-in-your-bong-good-or-bad/

  49. The amount of misinformation in this thread is astonishing lmao

  50. Lmao F off buddy. Anybody lacking the forethought to see there’s exponentially more avenues for general intelligence to go wrong, opposed to actually benefiting society, have absolutely zero business speaking on the matter.

  51. ITT: Redditors scared of a company using the free market to sell food they don't like. Grow up people, you don't have to eat it if you don't want to.

  53. I have said it once and I'll say it again.

  56. What are you smokin? Distillate is perfectly fine to consume, theres nothing added or rather nothing should be added to distillate other than terps when put into a cart

  57. Lmao how do you think they get it into the highly unnatural form which can be smoked from a vape? Answer: Solvents
