  1. I just discoverd Bookfusion the other day, still getting my head around it. Will Readwise Reader make bookfusion obsolete in that you can use Reader to host your ebooks?

  2. This would be a holy grail setup for me. My Sony DPT-S1 card reader died recently so maybe a system refresh of Boox + Reader output to Obsidian could be the way to go. Glad to hear it works well on the Boox.

  3. Yesterday was bananas. I stepped out of Costco's in Woodland and then drove down 113 and have never seen anything like it.

  4. Happy 100th birthday to Charles Schulz!

  5. The brain fog seems to come in different "flavors" in sense. This only last about 6 weeks for me and I'm fine now but I'd be totally alert, good energy, able to converse, but it was like my vocabulary went to shit. Every day objects I'd lose the word for, I'd have to like point and say "that thing" or it would take me like several seconds to remember the word for something I'm super familiar with...thank god that finally got better. That was more of an annoyance than anything seriously bad.

  6. Had COVID very early in the pandemic. Lungs worked at what felt like 60% for about 6 months but got better. However, finding the right word (normally nouns) is a daily struggle. Scares the shit out of me as I am only 41 and it is a marked issue, not just some subtle gradual thing one might expect with aging. Hoping it heals as did my lungs!

  7. I understand you. Male daycare owner here. Outside on the greenbelt everyday in various spots. I'll be with 5 kids all the same age and varying races and people are like, "oh, look at all your kids, you must be a proud dad". Like I knocked up three women at once and one of them was Asian and we had twins, and I just happen to have them all at the park with me at onc, alone?! Crazytown. As if that is more likely than this being my job.

  8. I've got a '19 GT N Line in gun metal or whatever the color is. I love it so much, so much. Enjoy!

  9. Came here to say this! One of her compatriots is still alive, lives in the south, her last name is Truate Lafrenze and she is 103. Amazing woman and an amazing act of resistance.

  10. I find some of the collections posted here to be cluttered and overwheming. This is perfect.

  11. There are so many billions of pounds of Russian money parked in the UK - London high streets specifically - that I reckon Putin thinks he is owed some loyalty from Sunak et al.

  12. That's money that should go to Ukraine for rebuilding.

  13. it's all GA. no chairs just the concrete benches.

  14. Thank you so much, this was just what I was looking for.

  15. As something who utilizes the potato hack in occasion to lose weight I enjoyed this immensely.

  16. If it's going to be rescheduled and not legalized or decriminalized it's still going to be a scheduled drug. If it stays a scheduled drug the best you could hope for is schedule 5. So, it'll be just as legal as lean is.

  17. What do you mean by "CBD-derived THC"?

  18. Hemp-derived might've been better phrasing. But I meant stuff like delta 8, THC-V, THC-O, D9 gummies, ect.

  19. K, that's what I figured. The THCa/sub .3% THC hemp flower market is wild right now. Legal in all 50 federally and getting people high from what I hear.

  20. Actually, owners of luxury properties often self insure. They are counting on the land to maintain it’s value even if a house is lost. But that may not hold true in this case.

  21. My family has a house hit by Ian. No insurance because the price wasn't worth it for the 20 years it's been in the family. Some people can afford to take that chance and do so because they like the locale. It's truly "just stuff" when you have the money to replace it or write it off as a loss and move on. Not how I would play it but my family really enjoyed the islands off Ft. Myers in the winter. I'll be curious to see if the repair costs are lower than what insurance would have cost over so those years.

  22. Agreed. Family home was built in the 70s so it lasted 50 years. Sanibel Island hasn't had a storm surge wash over the island in 96 years or so I've heard. Rebuilding on Sanibel is a fools errand imo. I'd be just as happy along a mellow creek somewhere if that's still a thing.

  23. Just imagine being the first person to summit this on foot. Could happen someday.

  24. Your killing it with this series. Love it!

  25. They should transform Steinway St. MTA subway station to look like this.

  26. Thanks for this. I couldn't find Gumbo Limbo. Is there a larger NOAA imagery cache from where these were gathered?

  27. I found it via somebody that downloaded the entire file on Twitter and uploaded it to the Google drive. There are probably 2,000 photos and I had to spend about 45 minutes going through to actually find my home and a friend on Captiva

  28. Yes, I've spent an hour and can't find gumbo Limbo. Perhaps they did not photograph that far north. It should be easy to spot given how it is in the edge of the preserve. I'll keep looking!

  29. After all the fun of '97 and whatnot, shit began to feel really, really dark to me by 99. I remember actually leaving Deer Creek in 2000 bc I had just reached my threshold for all the sketchiness that had been building for so long. I watched two huge scary fights before the show and tried to help a girl who had been frantically searching for something in the grass for twenty minutes. When I asked her what she was looking for, I was expecting it to be her grandma's heirloom diamond earring or something, but it was a crack rock. She'd been combing through the fucking grass for 20 minutes for a crack rock. And then inside everything felt terrible. If there had been more shows after those, I would have jumped off tour. I was glad when the band called it.

  30. Yup. I did all of summer tour '00, some fall east coast shows and Cypress. I nearly bailed on tour near Pittsburgh because the crew I got swept up with was so beyond shady. Always raising bail at one show for whoever got popped at the one before. Gun cases full of rocks crystals use to park drug proceeds; ghetto blasters, Sammy Smiths, patchwork, macrame jewelry, and a bright yellow VW Corrado blasting Gang Star across the corn fields on the way out to Deer Creek. Kids packed 20 deep in an Extend-a-Stay in Columbus, tweaking at 9 AM. I slept in the sliding glass mirror closet hoping to stay out of jail. I was 18 at the time. Vegas was wild. Cypress nearly killed me. Good times!
