  1. The view I would like to change: people mostly buy designer goods/goods with logos just to show off to others.

  2. Why do you want this view changed? I think that you don't want this view changed but you want to know why it isn't bad or wrong to want to show off to others. Because I think it's factual that luxury brand name items are usually bought as a signifier of to others of value. But I don't think that's a bad thing

  3. It's not a scam because they didn't lie to you or trick you. They were upfront with their product, you decided to purchase it. Is the social currency you gain worth the financial currency it costs? That's up to you to decide. They didn't tell you it was impressive, culture decides that. And if you don't like that game or want to participate you have that option. It's literally supply and demand

  4. Or maybe of equal value depending on how good our negotiators are.

  5. No dude, that's not how business works. If I leave a transaction with the same value I had going in, there was no point in the transaction. It literally has to be greater value or it's not worth it. A negotiator can make determine how much greater or how little great it will be but there will always be profit or the transaction won't even happen

  6. I would say "Yo sé, verdad" or "Yo sé, no" it's actually common to say "no" where in English we'd say "right" in this context

  7. So "well" is different in different contexts. So for example if you wear sweat pants and socks inside, well it doesn't have to be socks with holes and sweatpants with the little built up fuzzy beads. If you're going to wear "comfy" clothes to the grocery store. At least make them clothes you like. The goal is to have a wardrobe that every item you own, you like. That maybe you have a really nice soft good quality white t-shirt to go to the grocery store. That can be considered well dressed for the occasion.

  8. Stay with Logic. You like Logic, you know Logic. If the price of the new Mac is similar to the price of the new PC plus the Price of Ableton then just stick with Logic

  9. "Font" is rarely, if ever, used to talk about handwriting, since it refers to a specific set of characters for the process of printing, either digitally or as physical sets of objects for old printing presses. Times New Roman, Helvetica, and Comic Sans are fonts. Cursive is a type of font, but not a font itself. (EDIT: these are typefaces. The bold, italic, or regular versions of each of these would be fonts).

  10. Can I say, you are annoying as fuck. Because you spent more time trying to correct me, which I didn't ask for your critique or criticism at all. Vs actually helping the person who asked a question. They wanted to know how to write this letter, even if my answer is an unusual way of conveying the concept behind my reason for choosing which R to write. It still answers the question which was asked.

  11. If someone asks "what's the difference between these two dogs" and you say "they're different minerals; one's a corgi and one's a nudibrach"...I mean you're right that they're different, but that doesn't make it a good answer.

  12. So you continue to show how annoying you are by making this wildly out of hand analogy. My way of conveying the information was unusual but not wrong. You analogy was abnormal which is different. Also what determines if an answer is good or not is if the answer was achieved and received by the questioner. So if they get what I'm saying and it is correct then yes it does make it a good answer.

  13. So places that hate each other are usually because they are similar in MOST ways except one small insignificant way. But that small way makes one place judge the other place. This is actually the cause of a lot of conflict in the world.

  14. Don't go with the DX. It does come with tons of amazing patches but it's literally too overwhelming. Get the CP it has simple great sounds. MAYBE the YC or CS if they wants to program sounds themselves. But with all the Refaces you can use them as a midi controller. So when he gets/if he gets bored he can plug that bitch into an iPad or something and use synth sounds. And basically all the DX patches are based on the DX7 which all those FM patches are available for free online. So in the future he can expand his sounds using midi.

  15. So first music theory isn't a set of rules you have to follow. It's a collection of discoveries, or guidelines, or you could even say win conditions. Yeah, like if music is a deck of 52 cards. Different genres are different games, with different conditions to win the game. So the goal of Poker is different from Spades or Truco. So you only learned Music Theory of 1 game. But want to play a different game and are confused as to why it isn't working. But luckily when you study music theory from any of the games you learn how to label and analyze musical ideas and then discover for yourself how to play any game you want. The ideas translate.

  16. Not only is this a yes, you would be surprised how common this is.

  17. No girl! Like THE One Piece. The mythical pirate treasure hidden by the great Pirate King Gol D. Roger.

  18. Lmfao bruh not eveyone is an anime fan just cause they fall into an age bracket that most weeabos also fall into.

  19. I read it over a few times and I think it does! so basically a compressor takes anything that passes above a certain volume threshold and chops a percentage of the volume off the top? like, if I had a sound at 10 volume and applied a compressor of 1/2 to anything past 5 volume, the final volume would be 7.5?

  20. YES! Okay so that's what a compressor does but if you have just 1 sound on a track you can still use it.

  21. hmmm, I think I'm still pretty unsure I understand makeup gain and also release.

  22. So Release is, once it gets to the final compressed volume how long it takes to go to the original uncompressed volume. OR some compressors Release is, once the volume goes below the threshold how long until it stops compressing.

  23. I understand you can do the same major or minor shape for each chord, but also that there are different positions of arpeggios for each chord as well. If I wanted to play the g major chord up and down the neck, I would have to have different positions for each. That’s where I am having a difficult time, as some of the positions are quite awkward.

  24. Yes this is true but most people don't learn, use, or need all the positions and shapes. The guitar or music in general has so much knowledge but you won't use or need most of it. I would only focus on what I would actually use and it's extremely rare to use or need all the positions of arpeggios. Because even if you know the barre chord shape you can break that down into an arpeggio you know

  25. This helps and was what I was thinking, my teacher plays classical guitar so he may be sending me down places I don’t need to go.

  26. These are good exercises, good for helping you learn the neck of the guitar, etc too so it's not a complete waste but in real music it's not commonly used in most styles. Not that it won't happen but not enough that you need every position memorized from the beginning

  27. But it's not necessarily music theory. Like using Feedback as a creative effect. Or they were the first commercial group to have a fade out at the end of a song. Or they had a huge part in the creation of ADT (automatic double tracking).

  28. I think this is different than what people think. It's saying that we live in arguably one of the best countries in the world. So if you aren't being provided all the things you need one way is thinking, "What skills, traits, abilities do I have that my country needs? Can I use these to get more from my country?" Basically, if you are lost, no direction, if you don't feel like you are getting what you want out of life, the military is a solid way of trading your time, your abilities, your body, etc. And getting back from the country things like skills, certifications, education, housing, food, a strong network, a career, etc.

  29. There are Max for Live devices that do this. But natively in Ableton there is an [Info View] in the bottom left corner, that gives you information over whenever you hover you mouse over. If you don't see it press [Shift+?] and it will open. You can right click a midi clip and in the drop down menu one of the options is [Edit Info Text]. This allows you to write whatever you want in that [Info View] in the bottom left, and it will appear whenever you hover over the clip.

  30. I would get a Midi controller and just master the soft synths built into whatever DAW I have.

  31. You might have the destination where it collects and saves everything too configured to a different location than the project file.

  32. So it's kinda like colors. So we have 12 notes, 12 colors. So like A A# B C C# D D# E F F# G G#. So think of them like colors. And a major chord is a bright color and minor is dark. So like for example if I have a painting of a red apple, I can choose bright red for like a highlight color or I can substitute the highlight bright red for like pink, and it also could work as a high light color. So it's not that you memorize all the colors you understand the function first. So bright, mid, dark. And how different colors are related. And then you paint accordingly.

  33. hey! thank you very much! and what about the second part of the sentence , "share to vs share with" what would you use? thanks!

  34. Oh sorry yes you need to use "with" you "share with someone"
