From a practical standpoint, hell no. Their team would not have put all this preparation and effort into a campaign to end it in 40 episodes, not when previous seasons have gone past 100. Thats just not their business model.
I wouldn't be surprised to see this campaign go a bit shorter than the past two, but more jam packed with content per episode. The efficiency of CR has skyrocketed.
There is no way that they'll leave this continent, with this amount of lore, written by Matt and his collaborators, to be set on a short campaign.
I didn't say short, i said "shorter". Im thinking with C1 going to 115 and C2 going to 141, i could see C3 going to 100-110 episodes but covering what would've been 2 session of C2 or 3 sessions of C1 worth of content per episode of C3.
