  1. I just think flat bed has a greater barrier to entry. Sure if you have carrier relationships in place FB is easy. I can book any lane off Dat if I needed to on reefer. The same cannot be said about FB.

  2. This is my issue. I am very used to posting and negotiating. Flatbed carriers especially in the north are a clique I have not unlocked

  3. Agreed to the agency. I left TQL as a $10k broker and now have my own agency. Kept the same customers after my year long layoff and now make 4x what I made there

  4. How’d you go about having that conversation with your customers and how did they deal with your year off? I feel like most of my customers rely on me too heavily and would need to completely switch vendors. My other customers are contracts that likely wouldn’t be willing to add me back on after such a break

  5. I had a good friend who was an agent himself (he’s the one who convinced me to leave). Before I left I conferenced called my customers with him on the line, we set them up with him and I introduced him to my primary carriers.

  6. If you don’t mind why do you believe you get better LTL rates with a smaller brokerage as opposed to TQL rates? How would you compare the levels of priority your customers get with your LTL vs when they were dispatched with a TQL BOL?

  7. Disagree. That’s the hyperbolic, looks good on Twitter and Reddit spin that’s not a real thing except to people with delusion.

  8. If you’d rather show your kids that you can make exceptions for sexual assault as long as they are on your favorite football team that is your choice and your family. I don’t compromise my moral compass for football. I watched every single game since 99 and I made my choice.

  9. You washing your hands of the Browns or the entire NFL?

  10. Not interested in the nfl if I can’t watch the browns honestly

  11. English Lit major, anthropology minor, associates degree in Business Management. Got the degree thinking I’d become a lawyer, but got talked out of going to law school by TQL in 2012. Still working in logistics 10 years later, make lawyer money as a coordinator; no regrets. No student loan debt for law school, either.

  12. Wish I got in back then. I’m a year and a half in and doing fairly well but wow. The number of high spend accounts that now tenured employees had access to back then… I love my job and my accounts but I wish I had joined sooner.

  13. Am just going to keep telling my partner’s story as these posts continue to crop up. Sexual assault is a scar that takes a lifetime to heal. Sexual assault is alienating. Sexual assault cannot be compensated for monetarily. Sexual assault induces PTSD. Sexual assault sometimes needs years of therapy and medication to feel somewhat normal again (maybe). Sexual assault kills. Sexual assault isn’t taken seriously. Sexual assault often blames the victims. Sexual assault changes your brain chemistry. Sexual assault has the potential to destroy a person.

  14. We havent had a super reliable 3rd down reciever since Joe Jurevicius. Here's hoping.

  15. You don’t think Jarvis was a good 3rd down back in his tenure here?

  16. Absolutly love Jarvis. But he dropped a fair amount of critical passes.

  17. Last year certainly. Just going off of memory he was a reliable back—- wide out* sorry, cinco problems* in his prior years. Joey J was a good memory though

  18. Man I’m happy for the browns but I wish I could bring myself to participate this season. My partner is a victim of abuses from multiple men in various scenarios and I just can’t handle this.

  19. I’m not sure if this has changed recently but I wouldn’t even say the training is worth it looking back. Fresh out of college in 2017 - $35k seemed good but in 2022, $35k seems like robbery as you could make more than that working fast food.

  20. My broker used to sexually harass me on a daily basis but I was 1/2 females in an office of over 100 men. The training was just becoming a dispatcher and watching a shit ton of motivational YouTube videos. It’s salary so they like to make you work as much as possible for no reward. They want you to make hundreds of calls to the same businesses who already refuse to take TQL calls. They have sooo many newbies over calling the same people so you’ll get cussed out a lot. But if you like wasting your time for 6 months to see if you can magically make it and have tougher skin than most, all while being broke as a joke, I’d give it a go.

  21. I’m so so sorry you had that experience. I’m thankful that I don’t see that happening in my office. If I did I have HR on speed dial.

  22. HR protects the company not the employee, I doubt they’d do anything about it beside telling you to dress differently

  23. Part of protecting the company is protecting its image as non rapists but I generally agree

  24. Complete misunderstanding of market conditions vs policy

  25. Go to Mexico, fuck anyone that makes you happy, possibly move there and find joy in life. NTA

  26. Why do we vote these antiques into office. Please America, please.

  27. It’s a conspiracy that’s easy to sell to populations that didn’t win votes. We’ve seen strongmen try this all over the world in the last decade to stay in power, 9/10 times it’s just a guy who lost the support of the majority and lost a no confidence, but if you blame it on a foreign devil like America you can get away without admitting you lost.

  28. If America only sways 10% of worldwide elections for their own benefit that’s cool

  29. What makes you different? You're non-asset and will just post the load on DAT

  30. There are still plenty of differences in customer service. Sometimes someone fucks up and you can be the hero. Sometimes there is a claim that destroys the relationship. Sometimes there is a new POC that wants to switch things up. Sometimes the business grows and needs to reevaluate their providers… just because someone is good one day doesn’t mean they are good tomorrow.

  31. Buddy in my office just had a semi flat barrel into stopped traffic and kill 6 people. Drunk. A few drug busts. A 40’ HC hit a bridge.

  32. BADASS is a group that fights on behalf of women who are targeted for revenge porn. These survivors sometimes experience lasting PTSD and often have no legal recourse. Here in Ohio BADASS got together with lawmakers to pass a bill imposing more severe penalties for those who post images or videos without consent. Having personally known both survivors and those operating this charity, and having personally gone to court hearings in Columbus in support of them, they do real quality work in connecting these survivors with resources.

  33. I wish I had this kind of free time. Not knocking, just self loathing.

  34. It entirely depends on the mode and lane. Box truck loads out of houston are instant flood of call-ins. if i have a nowhere, OH to Denver, CO i have to call out for hours.

  35. i had a 16-stop load from PA to CO a couple months ago i had to cover on a friday, and thank you for triggering my trauma…. lol

  36. What equipment and how much did you cover it for? Just curious lol

  37. Damn. Those are steep rates. Someone wants to B&E to raid my fridge I’ve got economy pricing; let’s call it good at $75

  38. I worked there for 6 months. Here is what I experienced. (I'm a guy)

  39. I work in one of the OH offices and truly have not experienced the same culture as what you're describing. I'm sorry you had that experience and I really hope it has improved. My office is night and day to what you're describing.
