  1. looks like they're called compass puzzles, at least by cracking the cryptic

  2. Here's a link to a puzzle site with more Compass puzzles:

  3. Any place that would have Gary Vee as a featured speaker.

  4. You just know this sign was put up because one too many people listened to the warnings and said "Yeah, I think I'll be fine."

  5. Discussion: Check your work again. The possibilities you provided for row E don't work. All five elements of that row must add up to a multiple of 13, and none of your possibilities do that.

  6. Is this an optimal solution for this particular problem? Or is it just "close enough"?

  11. Jamie Demetriou appeared in "Bill" as part of King Philip's assassin squad.

  12. I had read the Divine Comedy in college, and found the adjectival form of Dante Alighieri's name to be a fun word, so I used it when I created my email account, and subsequently use it as my username on other sites. The "17" at the end is meaningless, as other people had the same idea, and Hotmail suggested it for differentiation.

  13. Vanilla ice cream is vastly superior to chocolate ice cream.

  15. Anything's possible. However, Captain Isaac is a rough blending of the Captain (military + closeted) and Mary (walking through the ghost creates a smell related to the circumstances of their death). I believe that they chose dysentery solely to make a fart joke.

  16. I think the clues you include are worth noting, but I'm not sure about your assumptions. I don't think we have enough info

  17. You can factor out a constant at any time, provided that constant is neither zero nor +/- infinity. It's never really necessary, but can be helpful if you have an extremely complex function, and you just want to concentrate on the parts of the function with the variable(s).
