And A HALF!

Shows the Silver Award... and that's it.

Thank you stranger. Shows the award.

When you come across a feel-good thing.

  1. Strange that they're using feet instead of centimeters.

  2. People in the UK use feet and inches to measure height. We have a mixed metric/imperial system. But height is always is feet/inches.

  3. Does that get confusing? I get confused switching from grams to chips so I just convert to grams when I bake.

  4. Not really, but sometimes I guess. There’s specific expectations for what things are in metric or imperial.

  5. Aye the Troubles were horrible. IRA getting funding from the US and the UDA and UVF getting funding from the British government.

  6. I think that’s a bit misleading to say the British Government. Definitely individuals within the British Army (The Irish Regiments, and some Scottish Regiments specifically) colluded with the UVF/UDA but there’s no evidence the British government or top brass were involved.

  7. “Enabling access to knowledge was one of his main goals in life, as confirmed by many projects he undertook:

  9. I wonder how many folks vociferously calling for the holodomor to be called a genocide would agree with calling the Bengal Famine one.

  10. The Bengal famine was definitely not a genocide, anyone saying that is being ridiculous or has never read on the subject at all.

  11. I mean that wasn’t even anywhere near the main causes of the famine, but in regards to removing the boats it was to prevent the invading Japanese army from having further transport and ability to invade further. It was a wartime decision that made perfect sense in the context and considering the impact of the Japanese on invading and the reputation they had it was certainly done in good faith.

  12. God look at your post history, what a massive incel. No wonder you’re giving out shit sex tips.

  13. embarrassing for us? lmao “its coming home” and you couldn’t beat your bitterest rival. have a nice day mate

  14. Do people outside of England not realise that ”it’s coming home” is satire about how poorly England do? If you listen to the whole song it’s self deprecating.

  15. “If the issue cannot be resolved we would take legal action in the international courts. The case against the Drax family would be for hundreds of years of slavery, so it’s likely any damages would go well beyond the value of the land.”

  16. Can we have a satire or parody tag, I thought this was real at first.

  17. The SNP should be focusing on improving the polls. The polls haven’t changed since 2014 and are stagnant at about 40-50%, usually about 45%. If they want independence and a referendum they need to convince more people.

  18. posted in the other sub, but as i spent 5 minutes of my life googling, may as well post here too.

  19. Damn, I know I couldn’t name my modules, at least not until about half way through the first semester.

  20. Do people not know how to read? You don't have to work out what the Celtic League is. They have a

  21. If you don’t want to look like a mug online insulting people, then you should probably read the website you’re citing:

  22. The English get really pissy because the irish women's team sang a pro ira song after winning a game but it's ok when they do it

  23. This is a parody account. And tbh, it wasn't really the English that were pissy about the IRA chant, but mostly the Northern Irish and Scottish.

  24. After King Henry VIII's death, his 4 children arguments over succession led to a brutal war.

  25. Word for the wise: a lot of you guys have high hopes for Alliance, but be cautious of your expectations.

  26. How so? What’s the issues with them?

  27. That’s weird af, someone should see what the rest of the mods think. I assume they haven’t realised.

  28. After King Henry VIII's death, his 4 children arguments over succession led to a brutal war.

  29. After King Henry VIII's death, his 4 children arguments over succession led to a brutal war.

  30. I wonder if it’s possible the rest of Ireland wouldn’t want them either. I’m admittedly not the most well versed in all the history, but it seems like there isn’t any kind of big reunification push on the part of the Republic of Ireland.

  31. That’s definitely a good point. I believe polling for the unification of Ireland is about economics for a good period:
