  1. I mean probably Bo if he doesn't have a book already

  2. Hey so I live in the city, here's what you need to know. If you're willing to hit the hood you'll find some incredible food from almost any ethnicity, and the people will be friendly, but stay out of the North end, it's a rough place. If you plan on being out late stay downtown and close to where you parked. There's nice shopping in West Hartford and some upscale restaurants too. Living here is like living anywhere else, just mind your business and be friendly and you'll have a great time.

  3. Coming from a rural, farming community in the Midwest, I have to concur with this post. Bear’s BBQ isn’t bad but it’s not great either. I’ve never had Taino’s but I’m putting it on the list.

  4. The Mexican in some of the little places in Hartford is really good. But you need to hit the hood to get the good shit.

  5. Feel that, I'm a 6'3 tradesman, absolutely nobody is expecting it, and they always have some dumbass followup questions

  6. Nahhh that's def the Mid-Atlantic, we don't really fw Philly teams in CT

  7. Happy we're out of Afghanistan, and I'm happy with the vaccine rollout. My pay has gone up and I don't think that's a coincidence, and I have to say that I'm happy that at least some student loans in fringe cases are being forgiven, I'm hoping that it's the start of the ball getting rolling. And also this may be selfish but honestly it feels good to not be constantly embarrassed by the president's interactions with other world leaders.

  8. I cut meat for a living and I've answered this question before. Dogs are companions and have been instrumental in the development of human civilization. In many cultures they're viewed as a part of the family, and I'd argue that they view themselves as part of the family. The other, more practical argument, is that raising a pig for slaughter is far more efficient as far as resources are concerned, and the yield from them is way higher. A dog won't be happy eating scraps and cheap crap in the same way that a pig will, and the space that would be required to happily raise dogs is a larger environmental drain than for pigs. So all equal, pigs give more for less environmental impact, and they don't come with the baggage of having been used near universally across cultures as emotional and practical companions.

  9. I can't think of a single party in this event that isn't getting what they deserve. Ben has shown no drive to improve his shooting and that's unacceptable, but Philly as an organization tanked his value in a matter of months and the fans wrecked his confidence in a winnable series against a team smart enough to exploit this. Any anticipation that he'd play again in front of that crowd was dumb as shit. I hope that this humbles him and he ends up sorting his shit out in a place with a reasonable contract. This last season Julius Randle played his ass off and won MIP after some mediocre seasons where he showed flashes of talent. I see no reason why a dpoy candidate wouldn't be able to make at least some degree of progress in a different location with better team chemistry. But if he doesn't want to work for it he'll end up floating around non-contending franchises in an unremarkable career.

  10. What do you think of IQ's atrocious shooting? I haven't been able to watch the games but the box scores look... Concerning. Is this an effect of the bad foul baiting I've been reading about? Or is it even worse than that?

  11. He's looking good to me. It'll be different during the regular season when he'll have the ability to feed the ball to better scorers who'll in turn be able to create space/more viable shooting opportunities for him. He's playing with confidence too, which is good because I think in the last half of his first season he seemed a little shook up by Thibs' rotations. I think he'll be an important part of our lineup, and even a solid backup in the case of injury to our main point guards.

  12. There’s no literally no other cars im this entire video the other guy is driving on the wrong side of the road which means they’re probably on an unused stretch of road somewhere.

  13. Lol no cars for now. And if she falls it won't matter if a car hit her, that clothing will get absolutely destroyed by the road. Just had to pick my buddy up from the hospital a few weeks back for doing exactly what she was doing.

  14. That’s the risk they take, people aren’t dumb, they know what they’re doing is dangerous and so long not endangering anyone else idc what they do. And I’m sincerely sorry that happened to your friend.

  15. They're absolutely dumb lol wtf are you talking about. It's all cool till homie films his buddy breaking her neck on a rock or on a car they didn't see coming.

  16. Iran is most definitely not funding Taliban and folks who say Iran think that everything in this world is either Team USA or the opposing team (Russia? China?), but that isn't how things work in practice. Taliban is a fundamentalist Sunni group, while Iran follows Shia tradition, and these two groups have been in a state of constant fighting ever since the islamic prophet Mohammad died. Shia muslims who are a minority in Afghanistan have always been targeted by Taliban (and they even declared war on the community). And y'all don't need to take my word for it, I'm just paraphrasing a statement by US DOJ:

  17. You're probably right and this is almost apples to oranges, but Iran did arm Sunni Muslims in Bosnia in the nineties I think. I have no text source I just heard this from some Bosniak dude I met a few times.

  18. I believe that specific twerk is from a Mastodon music video for "The Motherload"

  19. Answer: Because they experienced a traumatic event and became pawns in a political game that they never consented to being in. And now they see a distrust of their personal experience everywhere, and cable news channels tell the populace that they're liars or actors, and they and their families receive harassment and threats of violence. And THEN your former coworker plugs himself in a moment of weakness while driving down the interstate, and you start to realize how little agency you've been left with, and maybe your family would have a shot at a normal ish life if you just removed yourself from the equation. And in your own moment of fear and weakness, you put one through the roof of your mouth.

  20. Just got home after my last shift of the week. Cheers dawg

  21. If that means you get Friday and Saturday off, then we need 3 more forms of identification to verify your one of us

  22. Do the two fingertips and one knuckle that I've chopped off on the job count?

  23. My favorite band has an entire album that's absolutely trash because the lead singer is a narcissist who ousted the lead guitarist who clearly did most of the work writing all the previous songs considered the lousy quality of the one album that was wrote after he left the band. Guess my favorite band.

  24. Only time I ever went to Philly some dude tried to pick a fight with me over the barstool I sat in. What a trashy ass place

  25. lol similar thing happened. Many years ago me and a few buddies went to a concert at the Xfinity Center. Some kid in front of us was getting searched and the security guard ended up finding legit like 10 rolled blunts and a couple pints of whiskey. He proceeded to take them to the trash can that was PAST THE SECURITY CHECKPOINT behind him. My friend simply reached into the garbage bin on our way in and pulled out like 6 blunts and a bottle and just smoothly kept walking. I dont remember the concert.

  26. Of cause I know that the whole of the US is way better than this, but I still won't revisit it. Not because of some kind of ignorance, but because I don't believe it to be worth paying a lot of money, sitting in a plane for more than half a day and going through the effort of getting a visa just to stay in a country that lets their countrymen rott like that and it's not even talked about. I've also been to Chicago, was a really pleasant stay, but I still kinda don't feel any need to go over the ocean again.

  27. It is talked about, you just aren't listening. And probably nothing would change your mind anyways.

  28. My old man used to go there for work and said he'd never be back, it's just a sad place at times. Also I used to live with two people from the mainland and one from Macau, all said they could never stand even visiting there again, which bummed me out because I've always wanted to see it.

  29. I’ll take mine burnt please and thank you.

  30. I'll comment again cause the dude below you is wrong, it's not blood it's myoglobin, sorry it just annoys me when people get it wrong

  31. Just a protein in muscle, got iron in it so it looks like blood but it's not
