  1. And a lot of community colleges have agreements with local state colleges or universities, that students in certain fields or certain gpa are automatically accepted to the university if they apply. It’s a smart thing to do, to reduce costs the first two years, have less uncertainty about admission to the university, a good deal all around.

  2. That's how it was for my son. He's at University now. Also, some of his professors in CC were the same ones that teach at the University. So, the exact same classes for a much lower price.

  3. That's so stupid. We pay for our kids college and unless they got some really wild scholarships they were starting at CC. Why would you pay more when you don't have to? I just don't understand that. But, I know some people that have gone into massive debt just to send their kids away to college. It doesn't make me think better of them. It makes me think they will forever me in debt and aren't super bright. No thank you.

  4. It’s mostly probably tweens who couldn’t get their parents to take them watching the videos…who are your major fans…who are the people who make you money so you don’t have to do much with your life…why worry about it? I don’t know if it’s always been this way but what ppl are posting lately of korys tweets someone should take away his Twitter.

  5. I went to one of these shows. It's most definitely not mostly tweens. It's mostly young adult girls and mostly with their middle aged moms, like me. It's those who used to be tweens when Miranda was a thing. A few teens and tweens sprinkled in but not a lot. At least at our show.

  6. the way she's looking at the jury after every question is so fucking annoying

  7. Jodi Arias. That's what that reminded me of. Same exact bullshit. Jodi was also a psychopath. I almost wonder if Amber watched that trial and thought it was a good idea. Spoiler alert, Jodi was found guilty. So, not a good idea.

  8. I don't see how this guy is famous. Hell, I can even kinda see why Carrot Top is/was famous. But not James.

  9. I thought the singing in cars thing was cool. No? I was entertained and he was good at getting them to talk and sing. That's all I really know about him though.

  10. I was gonna say... He's not a child, they're not his guardians. IANAL, beat me up.

  11. I don't think the parents can be legally responsible, but 18 is only months into "adulthood". There's no way he only became radicalized like since his birthday. They had to have know something was up. Maybe they have the same views and didn't mind the hatred. Who knows. But they most definitely knew, or should have known.

  12. We fired a girl a few months ago for asking people to leave, basically. It's just not something you do in most nice places. If I were leaning that direction and the length they stayed was particularly egregious, I'd have a manager take care of it.

  13. Ah well, this was a thread about people setting their laptop on WiFi for hours and being asked to leave. So, I wasn't thinking "nice places" like an upscale steakhouse. Just regular restaurants or cafe's. I'm in a pretty casual setting now but we get VERY busy at times. It's just not a big deal. Maybe its regional too.

  14. That's probably accurate. If it were a coffee shop/cafe setting, I could see them telling people to GTFO. Not so much when a table of three spent $700 on dinner. lol

  15. Absolutely agree. If you've spent $700 on dinner, you've bought the table for the night.

  16. He had a YouTube channel with about 2,000 subscribers, where he espoused black supremacy and how the races shouldn't mix, also on the FBI watch list.

  17. Interesting. I think I read above in this thread that he was charged with terrorism. Is that not on par or worse than hate crime? I feel good with that charge. Is this a real problem or are you just annoyed with the reporting? That would make sense. Although I'm sure there is plenty of hate for black supremacy guy if that makes you feel better.

  18. The reporting and approach obscures the true perspective of the nation. They gave the black guy every benefit of the doubt, even wondering if he had an issue with the subway system and maybe that was his motivation, and even now people don't seem aware of why he did it. Meanwhile, the reporting on the supermarket shooting kicks off immediately with the race of the 18 year old shooter, no question as to the motivation, and implying this is a wide spread issue with white supremacist extremists instead of a lone wolf terrorist type who may have a problem with public transportation. The reporting reinforces biases and blind spots that are faulty, and incidentally, helped inspire the subway shooter.

  19. Interesting perspective. I don't remember getting that vibe from the subway shooter coverage, but I don't remember much talk about it at all beyond the first day or two. But, I'll be careful to notice these things in the future if/when they happen. Thank you for your responses. I highly suspect that we have entirely different views on this subject. But, I appreciate hearing your perspective.

  20. I always assumed the innies had the same general knowledge that their outies have on the world, the way things work, what things are etc. but they have no recollection of how they know these things because they don’t have the memories of it

  21. Agreed. Dylan is certain he's in "muscle contests", so he knows there are body building shows but doesn't ever remember seeing one so he doesn't really know what they are. Just, that they are.

  22. As someone who read his manifesto ( dude is insane) it's not the furries it was white nationalist beliefs and antisemitism. The dude definitely loved them 14 words. Definitely watched conservative media before moving on to the more hardcore shit.

  23. We are so fucked. This happens way too often. That fucking YouTube algorithm is no joke. Even if it doesn't end in this kind of tragedy, it doesn't end well. Especially for teens trying to figure out the world. I know it's taboo to say, but I feel bad that this happened to this kid. He deserves all of the punishment in the world. 100%. But it's disgusting that's it's so easy to manipulate people just based on a computer program. And it's so very dangerous. And there's so much money at stake that they just don't care.

  24. I can almost guarantee I know there those burgers came from. Or at least the brand. Why are they all shaped like that now?? Also, good job. It's not easy even if it's just for "fun".

  25. I had some regulars that I was accidentally charging less than they owed. For a while. I took a night off and the person covering me charged the correct price. They threw a fit. She showed them the price list and told them I was wrong. Which was true. Somehow they ended calling ME a bitch for the whole thing.

  26. Yeah I've always thought that was super weird. Like, just why?? But now, it really matters since now the clock is ticking to get abortion ASAP. Which is fine, I mean, I'm sure most people want to get it done ASAP , but- I once didn't know I was pregnant until week 9.

  27. I don't think most women deciding whether or not to get an abortion want to have to make that decision in such a rushed and small time frame. Like, they have just hours to decide if the "heartbeat" might start any minute. So, I don't it's fine at all. But obviously, yeah, most women don't know til 8 weeks or so unless they are actively trying and testing constantly.

  28. This is another side effect, sales of pregnancy tests will soar to be as much as period products. More $ for corporations. Plus they might need to test more than once to be sure. This is getting to be even more expensive to be a woman.

  29. Luckily you can get good reliable tests at the dollar store. Well, the 1.25 store, now. If they can keep them in stock, I guess.

  30. Just my son, and my daughter got me into it. It great to all talk about it together! Spouse needs to watch it now!

  31. Yesterday one of our bartenders tables asked where their food was, on an 8-minute ticket. She replied "Yeah, see the kitchen has to cook your food before I can bring it out, isn't that crazy?" and I will never forget hearing those sweet words come out of her mouth.

  32. Any time anyone orders waters, or anything else, for the whole table I say "ok, I'm going to get you that water and then check with everyone else about their own drinks". Drives me nuts. And it's really rare that everyone wants a water.

  33. Yeah. Pretty much all of the time. I'm your server, not your servant. I couldn't even begin to tell all of the stories. But, this week, I had a table of 18.

  34. Really fucked up that the “great replacement” has made it into mainstream conservative news. Tucker Carlson is a very yucky man

  35. Had similar issues when things went down. Had to make sure that everyone was only using one device to ring things in on cause it's only going to be on that device. Can't see it or change it or pay it out on any other device. Thankfully we are small so it was difficult but doable. It only lasted the evening and worked itself out. Good luck!

  36. That's actually sad. That they can't see that they are ruining their own lives for some bullshit cult. I won't lose sleep over it or anything, but it's got to suck for family and friends of these people.

  37. I don't know, How I Met Your Mother in itself was a fucking crime against humanity

  38. I liked it the first time through when it aired. I really really liked it. Rewatching is not so great. I don't hate it, but it's definitely not very funny. And I really thought it was.

  39. I think in some ways having that much money just fucks with your brain. You really do start to believe that it's because of you.

  40. I agree. I think it takes a very very strong person to not become crazy with that much money or power. Seems almost impossible.

  41. That's just awful. My husband works for a manufacturing company. I work at a restaurant down the street. Since the very beginning of the pandemic his company has bought lunch from my restaurant twice a week for every single employee. For TWO years. There are over 100 employees. They also do daily raffle prizes for the employees with cash prizes and gift cards. That's EVERY day.

  42. But the lizards didn't do anything, did they? They just smiled and nodded until she left, I imagine. She's so cool. I would love to give her a hug.

  43. Was just talking to my family about this video last night. My phone must be listening to me, ugh. Anyway, that's the exact way that I summed it up. She was bad ass. Great video. But, nothing happened. They don't care.

  44. Both my mother and my mother in law have had ectopic pregnancies. I can't imagine if care wasn't available for them. Both my spouse and myself would have lost our mothers at really early ages.

  45. Along these same lines. Emotional in a different way.
