The regrowth struggle is real. I see all of you with your gorgeous, intricately painted nail art and I'm insanely jealous that you can keep a mani longer than a week! This is 6 days of regrowth. I get as close to the edge as I can and still look unkempt after a week. I feel like I'm always filing.

On a Brother or Babylock there's an adjustment so that the zigzag is the same thickness on both sides. Possibly there is something similar on this Janome. Talk to the dealer some more about it.

You can look for "feed balance dial" in your user manual. the manual didn't say that it can fix problem related to the buttonhole stitch but it worked. I also read from a post here (but couldn't find it now...)
There is a feed balance dial on the HD3000! I did a little more digging and found a YouTube video of someone actually using it for a buttonhole. Thanks again for the tip!
Such lovely garments! I have the garibaldi blouse pattern too, but haven’t sewn it up yet. Did you change the sleeves at all? The volume in the sleeves intimidates me lol
Thank you very much! I did not change the sleeves, though I did honeycomb smocking at the wrist cuffs instead of just gathering and it produced a really lovely small detail. The sleeves aren’t as big as they seem on the pattern example!
The smocking detail sounds really cute! I think I’ll give it a try with the sleeves as is then.
Olive Ave Polish - Nourishing Base Coat
how long do your manis typically last with olive ave products
That’s a tough one for me to answer because I paint my nails every 4 to 6 days so I’m usually removing polish before any major chips have occurred. Olive Ave Polish wears about the same as any other brand for my typical mani wear time.
Yay! Both my husband and I use your bars and we’re getting low. Enchanted is my favorite scent ever.
Can you bind a raw edge with lace to prevent fraying? Is lace too thin to work effectively? I saw someone do this on YouTube with the raw edges of an armhole seam and my mind was blown.
Yeah lace seam binding is great! Rayon seam binding is also fantastic, I refer Hug Snug brand :)
Oh nice! I’ll have to give it a try. The video I watched didn’t explain how or why they were using the lace as a binding so I was like is this really a thing? Google didn’t give me much info either. Thank you!

Adding a vote for Felin Lune Apothecary’s deodorant paste! I can even apply it out of the shower after shaving and there is no burning or irritation. Zero plastic packaging. I don’t want to use anything else anymore.
I also haven’t had any issues traveling with my magnetic palettes. I basically do what the other poster does. Put my shadows in the palette and then that goes into my makeup bag. Haven’t lost one yet. However, I will note that my shadows do not move around in the palette.

You’re talking about the gap between your cuticle and the polish right? It doesn’t look bad. It looks normal for a week old manicure. If it bothers you I would recommend doing a new manicure. Again, I think it looks fine for being a week old! In fact if that’s regular polish I would say you got fantastic wear time out of that mani!
Base coat: Long-Lasting Base by Holo Taco
This polish looks great! I have the shades Pink Diamond and Zircon and, yeah, they are still a tiny bit textured after one coat of top coat. It doesn’t bother me though. Removal is more annoying for me since the irregular holo flakes seem to really stick to my nails. I still really like the look of the polishes so I deal with it. Lol
Have you checked out Zoya? Zoya has a lot of neutrals and nudes. The shades Jack, Cho, or Taylor might be close. Swatches on the Zoya website aren’t great so definitely do an image search for swatches.
