The number of victims of the collapse of a building in Florida has reached 11, the mayor of Miami-Dade County, Daniella Lavin Cava, said at a press conference.
Earlier it was reported about 10 dead.
About one and a half hundred people are considered missing.
A multi-storey building partially collapsed on June 24 in the town of Surfside, part of the Miami metropolitan area. The authorities reported that about half of the 130 apartments located in it were destroyed. According to the authorities, search operations are continuing.
Earlier, the New York Times reported that an engineer who carried out an inspection of the collapsed building three years ago warned about the discovery of “serious damage” to the structures of the house.
