why is benchy so popular?

  1. It's a common benchmark that includes specific tests for historically difficult prints (overhangs). It's meant as a challenge for your printer hardware and slicer settings. Most of the tests it includes are easily handled by modern printers, but it still has some use for comparison.

  2. I guess because its a nice looking benchmark. You can see alot (not all) about how well your printer is tuned & it is a funny decoration.
