How many of you are trying to complete every single research task for every pokemon? Let's have a discussion because it's both: not as hard as people think, but definitely quite an undertaking.

  1. For the rare tree/ore Pokémon I learned that they will spawn exactly the same Pokémon again if you go in a cave (needs to be one that loads a separate map) and just wait there for 30 minutes. That's how I got from 7 to 15 Nosepass in a day.

  2. You trying to do it too? Not a recommendation on strategy but I played the game until I beat the 5 Lords and then started in order at each location. Sorted dex by research level then made a list by hand on paper with pen from closest to done to not caught. I wrote down the easiest or most likely things that would get me to research 10 then highlighted each task according to whether it would be best to train them or encounter them in the wild. I also made a list of the special distortion pokemon of each location to look out for.

  3. I just don't think it's worth all this effort for no in game reward other than another increase in shiny rates. It's like how Breath of the Wild gave us 900 Korok seeds & locked 100% behind having to find every single one, only for the in game reward to be one giant piece of Korok shit, literally. Too much work & not enough reason to care tbh.

  4. The way you describe it makes me wonder why anyone would play any game ever? I don't need a mission or in game unlockable to give me an incentive to do anything. I play games to have fun, it's fun for me to push myself and hang out with these pokemon while completing the missions. I like feeding a 'mon, I like catching them a dumbass amount of times, I like dodging like 5 dudes as im trying to stun a guy and not die, I like the occasional shiny chime hyping me up, I like flying, running, jumping out of water doing slow mo pokeball throws, I like studying the behaviors of pokemon, I like seeing who's friendly, who's mean and who gets scared and runs away. Im into what the game has to offer and if these research tasks give me a little extra game to feel like Im playing for something still, then hell yeah my dude Im gonna complete it until im not having fun anymore.
