I personally love the blue more, but I like ultimate visuals on the models. With you designing the crystals it may be a different feel. The red is definitely more distracting.
neon yellow paint mixed into the blue resin would give a necron glow; you could do a full set of a variety of crystals for terrain. I haven't tried it in uv-cured resin tough.
I think the blue keep it calm and let's you focus more on the mini whereas the red draws my eye to it.
Red seems to pop a bit more I think. Looks good though, what resin do you use?

You could denote function by color. Troops blue and elites red or something. Both look great
