My OmegaQuant results

  1. What’s amazing to me is that my omega-6 is still so high even though I’ve been keto and avoiding seed oils for 5 years, and only ate a little nuts. I did eat a lot of chicken and pork though 😔

  2. I was carnivore and ate mostly pork (lots of brauts and meatballs) and fatty chicken. My Omega-6 was at 42.24% Moving to Beef/dairy only it dropped to 32.21% after a month.

  4. Since learning all this, I've been choosing leaner cuts, and I'm sticking with beef and seafood when eating out. I can't see myself not eating chicken and pork though, they're pretty essential to my overall diet. I'm hoping to find low PUFA sources eventually.

  5. I'm at 41% o6, at a lean 19 bmi. Very clean animal based keto for 2 years. Minimal eating out, no seed oils in the house, minimal packaged/refined food. Pork via fbm subscription, but I do have other chicken and pork. Sometimes you just gotta shrug....

  6. Stop eating the chicken and pork! That's where its coming from. These animals are fed corn and soybeans. That's where the linoleic acid is coming from.

  7. Wow, that's so high! It's amazing how stubborn O6 is, given that it's supposedly preferentially burned. If only we could hibernate to get rid of it.

I got 32.76% O6, and I had been concentrating on eating sat fat for months before then (my sat fat was 36.91%, 97th percentile), along with reducing pork, chicken, oils of any kind, for a long while (years?). I also switched a while ago (years?) to eating beef at least for my lunches. I buy farm-raised chickens a lot, limit pork to the leanest meats, etc. Still eat some regular chicken and pork, though. Do think Brad's pork has the best fat, and I'd buy nothing but his pork if I could.
