I'm equally as excited as I am fearful of this show. We've been waiting years and years for this and Kathleen Kennedy already said the delays were due to complete overhauls of script because the original was "too depressing" (something we all want and expect given the subject and timeframe). We barely see Obiwan in the first trailer yet we're introduced to a bunch of characters and set pieces and it's confirmed we're only getting 6 episodes. I really want this show to be good but after knowing all of this and seeing how Disney handled the sequel trilogy and how "meh" Boba Fett was despite the hype, I'm very nervous for this show.
That was good, I am excited for this show, but I think it is hilarious that the "trailer" is shorter than the "teaser trailer" was... I can't recall that happening before this.
And the way Owen twists the knife with that remark. Oof! To be honest, I'm most interested in seeing how the Lars family and their relationships with Luke and Obi-Wan are explored. In all these years and films and series, we haven't seen much content about Owen and Beru.
From a certain point of view, she was. Even in their final fight Vader never gets the satisfaction of killing or beating Obi-Wan. He just vanishes into the force so he can help Luke
I cannot understand why Boba Fett had to stay on Tatooine while Obi-wan travels to a dozen different worlds. The two show settings should’ve been swapped.
Boba Fett would have just been better if it was told chronologically and after his new Tusken family was murdered he decided to be the sheriff of the town. Instead of a crime lord who is against crime.

Kathleen Kennedy already said the show's script went through 3 complete rewrites from beginning to end because the original script was "too depressing". Well, that's exactly the way it should be and that's exactly what fans are wanting and expecting. I think there's about a 99% chance that inquisitor is turned good by the end. I want this show to be amazing but I have great fear after the sequels and watching Boba Fett.
I hope that instead of that Kenobi kills her in a fit of rage but then realizes afterwards that he’s starting to go dark and learns to let go of his anger/regrets over Anakin.
Really hoping they did this show justice with how anticipated this has been, but I can't lie, I'm not too hyped on these Inquisitors at all. Forget Rebels proportions and all that, they just look... Goofy
He's taken parts of his suit off before, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. We see him without his helmet for a split second in Empire Strikes Back.
There's a few seconds shot of him in Rogue One in a bacta tank (the healing liquid in Star Wars), and he was without his prosthetic parts (an interesting shot imo).
He usually sits in a bacta tank while not walking around in the suit and when he does that he doesn't have any of his robotic limbs on. So they assemble him every time he gets out.
Vader's is designed to cause him extreme pain and suffering while he wears it, so it stands to reason that he would not want to be wearing it if he does not need to. We see a glimpse of this in Rogue One when Vader first appears and he is nothing but a torso and wiring floating in bacta
Yeah, it’s gotten to the point where I dislike more films/shows than I like in this franchise but goddamn it if Star Wars doesn’t know how to get me back every time.
I'm always suspicious of prequels/side stories of characters that already have a completed story-arc. We usually get something akin to Solo or Blackwidow where it doesn't add anything of substance to the character's story. THAT SAID, if they wanted to adapt the Kieron Gillen Vader Comics, I'd be there for that. It seems like Hayden Christiansen is up for more SW too, since he's in this.
I know its cheap and easy as a set, but can Tatooine fuck off already? Its like they all want us to hate sand. There are so many planets in the SWU. Use them.
I mean…. Did you expect another planet? We already know that’s where Obi Wan spent his exile. Of COURSE this show is gonna take place primarily on tattoine.
I hope this is the last time they use a desert planet for the setting of a show for awhile. It’s so over done but at least it makes sense for this show to be set there.
George Lucas once said Star Wars is about an old man with a stick fighting a space ship in the desert. Tatooine ain’t going anywhere. It’s core to what Star Wars is.
When I first heard that they were going to bring back the original actors of Owen and Beru to reprise their roles, my dumb ass thought they were referring to the actors from the original theory
I was excited when this first got announced but this trailer doesn't really do anything for me. I'm starting to feel like Star Wars has run its course at this point. They need to do something bold and new eventually.
It looks ok but it has that same Star Wars TV look and feel that every Disney Star Wars show has had, along with Rogue One. I guess an Obi-Wan show isn't the best time to get experimental or anything, but the staleness is really starting to set in. I'll watch because I'm interested in what they do with it but I feel like I already know exactly what this show is going to be like and how I'm going to feel about it - which is briefly satisfied but then I forget about it a week later. Hope I'm wrong though.
Honestly, I’ve been looking to the past and watching films and media that inspired Star Wars, rather than consume the new content. I was really jaded by TRoS and didn’t even bother with BoBF. It’s cool to see what inspired George Lucas way back when.
few years ago i would have been excited for this. But this looks like just another run of the mill disney star wars cash in. And how many times can you do a vader tease with him breathing at the end of a trailer.
Wdym you aren’t excited for your 10th crumb of shitty Vader fanservice tied around a boring show that for the nth time takes place between the PT and the OT. And for the (n-1)th time tries and fails to please sw fans.
To be honest this is the one most of us have wanted for years. There’s plenty of spin-offs that are milking it, Disney has them and will continue pumping them, but a 6 part limited series that’s been the subject of discussion for a decade plus - this one is not a cash grab.
I really wish these writers were around for the last three movies that have been making these shows these last few years. It would have been a completely different product
What! Are you gonna Train him like you did his father? Look how that turned out. No, he will start as far from any adventure and as have nothing to do you with you Kenobi!
This looks great, but they aren't showing enough of Obi-Wan in the trailers. I hope this doesn't end up like Loki where he's apparently the "main character" but the show's real intent is just to dump a bunch of new lore and expanded universe bullshit into six episodes to spawn spinoffs.
They are definitely building up to the moment when Obi-Wan pulls his lightsaber and turns it on.
Episode 3 I reckon.

Star Wars music starts playing. Slight slow mo, amplified lightsaber sound. Cool line, battle starts.
Yea in the trailer I see him messing around with a blaster and am just thinking, Dude.. what are you doing
'Kid, I'm about to let everyone in on the secret' Kanan Jarrus
"when the time comes, he must be trained"
Karma's a Bitch, When the time comes Owen will get a sick burn of his own.
The ol' Tosche Station Sun Burn.
No wonder Owen was so much “shut the fuck up about your dreams, Luke. Just be a fucking farmer.”
Really love that Edgerton is back to play Owen. He took a bit role in a movie 20 years ago. Crazy.
"You mean like I trained someone to become the most powerful person in the entire galaxy? Yeah, like that."
"Listen here, you little shit..."
A burn worse than Anakin.
“Dude are you EVER gonna let that go?”
There's a similar encounter in one of the comic books way back where Owen basically said "Haven't you killed enough Skywalkers already?"
Uncle Owen is perfect - so glad they brought Edgerton back for this.
I saw a quote from Deborah Chow, something like "I just want to say thank you to George Lucas for casting Joel Edgerton all those years ago"
He wouldn’t have come cheap that’s for sure
I keep confusing him with Jason Clarke and was gonna be like, damn, Jerry West is real mad again.
Owen went for Kenobis throat with that comment
That one burned more than a lightsaber wound ever could.
He had the high (moral) ground.
Ewan, you beautiful beautiful man.
A Jedi mugshot is pretty funny.
They just reused his Jedi employee ID card.
That mugshot is gonna be useless in a few years time
I want the camera to flash and then the mugshot to be Guinness
I’m kinda hoping they somehow explain how he ages so fast.
That was good, I am excited for this show, but I think it is hilarious that the "trailer" is shorter than the "teaser trailer" was... I can't recall that happening before this.
Yeah they’re clearly playing their cards close to the chest on this one.
It’ll be fun to explore the mental toll training the currently most powerful Sith Lord in the galaxy takes on Obi-Wan.
Taking the perspective of Doctor Frankenstein after his creation became monster.
And the way Owen twists the knife with that remark. Oof! To be honest, I'm most interested in seeing how the Lars family and their relationships with Luke and Obi-Wan are explored. In all these years and films and series, we haven't seen much content about Owen and Beru.

“You can’t escape him Obi Wan.”
"Escape is not his plan."
From a certain point of view, she was. Even in their final fight Vader never gets the satisfaction of killing or beating Obi-Wan. He just vanishes into the force so he can help Luke
Obi-Wan seems to have less gripes about using blasters now I see
If he pulls a saber then he gets outed as a Jedi, right? So maybe he can't do that unless hes planning on killing all the witnesses.
now he is the uncivilized one
Wouldn't the Jedi be excellent with blasters by using the force to guide their accuracy? That was something I always wondered about.
Yoda: “Wars not make one great.” Obi-Wan Kenobi: “So anyway, I started blasting.”
They are random and clumsy.
I have two semi serious reads on this.
Lol! Yeah he can't be showing that off.
In an uncivilized world, sometimes you have to be uncivilized
Doesn't he use a blaster sometimes in The Clone Wars cartoon?
I cannot understand why Boba Fett had to stay on Tatooine while Obi-wan travels to a dozen different worlds. The two show settings should’ve been swapped.
Boba Fett would have just been better if it was told chronologically and after his new Tusken family was murdered he decided to be the sheriff of the town. Instead of a crime lord who is against crime.
I definitely would have appreciated much more Kamino in the Fett series.
I think Fett series was sharted out as a filler/stop gap for production issues with Mandalorian. Nothing else makes sense about it.
I'm equally as excited as I am fearful of this show. “When the time comes, he must be trained”
“You can’t escape him!”
I really hope the inquisitor lady doesn’t become a good guy by the end. Let villains be villains!

I don't mind her turning good if Vader then absolutely destroys her, it would solidify Vader as the true villain
She's a black woman, that increases the chances of her becoming a good guy by the end significantly lol.
Should have been released today.
totally agree. the fact that it wasnt is truly baffling.
I’m a 46 year old man who feels like a child .. because of how excited I am to see this show!!! I can’t wait!!!
When Obi-Wan is spying on Luke, take a look where he is watching from. That's right... it's on the high ground. It's like poetry!
It's like catnip for Jedis
There's more: when Luke Fights Vader in episode 6 he hides from him in the rafters, which are high ground.
It rhymes
This show looks like it's just going to be Prequel 4, and honestly I'm here for it.
it sucks how obvious it is that Reva is going to turn good lol. they are going to copy Fallen Order's inquisitor redemption plot
I really hope Obiwan doesn't become a side character in his own show like Boba Fett did.
Well then she gets her ass bisected like Trilla too.
What Inquisitor redemption plot? Trilla gets shanked the moment she expresses any regret for her actions
There's MUCH worse plots they could copy.
Nothing from that trailer would suggest its obvious.
As soon as I saw her I thought, "oh it's the fallen order lady."
Um, given that the "redemption" plot ended with getting shivved in the back by Vader, that may not end well for her.
I hope that instead of that Kenobi kills her in a fit of rage but then realizes afterwards that he’s starting to go dark and learns to let go of his anger/regrets over Anakin.
I like the bit at the end where the lightsaber made the Disney plus logo
yeah the trailer is cool and all, but that was def my main takeaway when it finished
Really hoping they did this show justice with how anticipated this has been, but I can't lie, I'm not too hyped on these Inquisitors at all. Forget Rebels proportions and all that, they just look... Goofy
The Grand Inquisitor just looks like a man with a bulbous head.
Owen's zinger is more or less lifted from the comics:
Kiefer Sutherland looking ass
Looks great, but I’m not getting my hopes up too much. Hopefully it will a surprise.
hopefully also a welcome one
Hopefully a new hope will come later
Same. I’m cautiously interested. After the Boba Fett debacle. It shows that even now, Disney can put out some real shit.
Why is Vader being assembled? Does the Emperor keep him in a suitcase until hes needed?
He's taken parts of his suit off before, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. We see him without his helmet for a split second in Empire Strikes Back.
Bacta rusts everything; you gotta go in with naught but a diaper.
Healing tanks. I’m assuming he goes in without the upgrades.
Vader's is designed to cause him extreme pain and suffering while he wears it, so it stands to reason that he would not want to be wearing it if he does not need to. We see a glimpse of this in Rogue One when Vader first appears and he is nothing but a torso and wiring floating in bacta
People with prosthetic limbs assemble themselves every morning
I assume he has to take it off occasionally to clean what body parts he has left. Being in the suit 24/7 would probably cause problems.
He takes his suit and robot parts off when it’s bath time (as seen in Rogue One).
Missed opportunity to not release it today, happy star wars day!
just give us Hayden im on my knees
Can't wait to see the Obi wan and Vader meet up
I’m curious to know if they got James Earl Jones to voice Vader (even with Christensen doing the physical part)
Clone Wars F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Intro

Imagine how much better the show dropping on may the 4th would have been instead of a trailer but oh well
Who is that guy at 1:05 ? He looks like Poe from sequels but it doesnt make any sense
Looks like Kumail Nanjiani, don't know who he is playing.
I thought it was Goran Visnjic at first.
The number of Star Wars trailers that end with the death Vader breathing sound… seriously this franchise squeezes that precious milk so hard
Well, thanks to TLJ, now we know how important milk is to SW canon.
It’s like game of thrones episodes ending with cut to black, dragon shriek
I'm honestly so sick of it.
Show me Quigonn…..that is all
I would lose my mind if Liam Neeson made a cameo as a force ghost. That would be amazing.
He has a tummy ache
Why does this look like 720p upscaled to 1080p? This trailer should be in proper 21:9 4K HDR.
"Like you trained his father?"
Spoiler: he does run and does escape him
“Please stay subscribed now that Moon Knight is over.”
It’s simple. I see Vader, I watch show.
He’s so wizard!
Yeah, it’s gotten to the point where I dislike more films/shows than I like in this franchise but goddamn it if Star Wars doesn’t know how to get me back every time.

Nope. Everything important in the entire galaxy took place on one planet and involved the same 5 people.
George Lucas once said Star Wars is about an old man with a stick fighting a space ship in the desert. Tatooine ain’t going anywhere. It’s core to what Star Wars is.
A lot of star wars unfortunately HAS to be on tatooine
New Star Wars comes out
Member? I member.
Was that Kumal Nanjiani?
I can't wait for the final episode where he brings out his lightsaber.
I love that Ewan's brother is a pilot and they call him Obi-Two.
When I first heard that they were going to bring back the original actors of Owen and Beru to reprise their roles, my dumb ass thought they were referring to the actors from the original theory
Carrie Fisher has entered the chat
Should have been a movie
I’m very excited for this, can’t wait!
I'll take it.
Are we going to get to see the Emperor Palpatine Surgical Reconstruction Center?!
What's with the dude with the roomba on his head?
I sense something; a presence I’ve not felt since….
Please be good, boba fett was kind of a let down.
Can't wait for the R2D2 origins story.
I’m so happy and hyped for this
I was excited when this first got announced but this trailer doesn't really do anything for me. I'm starting to feel like Star Wars has run its course at this point. They need to do something bold and new eventually.
They need to leave this era entirely its too safe and stale already. Too many established characters and canon to work around.
the potential Taika Waititi project and The Acolyte should hopefully bring a refreshing new tone the series!
It looks ok but it has that same Star Wars TV look and feel that every Disney Star Wars show has had, along with Rogue One. I guess an Obi-Wan show isn't the best time to get experimental or anything, but the staleness is really starting to set in. After TLJ, they'll never do bold and new, at least not in the next 5 years.
Honestly, I’ve been looking to the past and watching films and media that inspired Star Wars, rather than consume the new content. I was really jaded by TRoS and didn’t even bother with BoBF. It’s cool to see what inspired George Lucas way back when.
I hope this is good but I have been let down by Star Wars shows so far.
Well, it can't be any worse than the Boba Fatt show.

Milk the cow some more, we can.

Star Wars fans: "They should make an Obi-Wan movie!"
Obi Wan and Darth Vader should never meet again until A New Hope.
Why? In ANH Vader says "I sense something, a presence I've not felt since..."
Obi-Wan...using blasters? What has the world become?
uncivilized
I might actually sub to Disney + for this. Looks really good.
I really wish these writers were around for the last three movies that have been making these shows these last few years. It would have been a completely different product
What! Are you gonna Train him like you did his father? Look how that turned out. No, he will start as far from any adventure and as have nothing to do you with you Kenobi!
I wish they left the vader tease out.
The trailer seemed to be a high frame rate. I dont like that
I like the idiot stormtrooper at the beginning who's trying to get back in step with the rest of the squad but failing.
Meh
ENOUGH WITH THESE BLASTERS WHERE IS KENOBI LIGHTSABER
Can't believe Kryten joined the Dark Side
More sand...
Well Hello there!
I sure hope its good
I wonder how many Episodes until kid Mando shows up?
As excited as I am, I still hate the way the Grand Inquisitor looks.
Grand inquisitor looks so goofy, he looks like tweedle Dee and Tweedle dum from Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland
Obi-Wan the book of Mando looks pretty good
So Reva knows Obi Wan personally? That’s the vibe I’m getting from this.
That Alec Guinness speech pattern doe!
It looks decent, but doesn't really wow me.
Look I love Tatooine as much as the next guy but we need a new planet
I will forever read Disney as Gisney.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't recognize that as a D growing up.
Giz or Jizz?
It looks good, but man, I'm so worried the writing is gonna be bad.
I've got a good feeling about this.
"stay hidden, or we will not survive"
This looks great, but they aren't showing enough of Obi-Wan in the trailers. I hope this doesn't end up like Loki where he's apparently the "main character" but the show's real intent is just to dump a bunch of new lore and expanded universe bullshit into six episodes to spawn spinoffs.
who is the woman wielding the red lightsaber , since most jedi have now been killed ?
One of the Inquisitors. A group of former Jedi turn Dark Jedi commanded by Vader to hunt Jedi.
May the 4th be with you all..

Luke
I like the variant of the opening music.
