Tolerance is absolutely the term used in the medical and recovery worlds to describe the ability to have higher concentrations of a substance in the body but experience less effects from it. They have a low tolerance for alcohol, or a high caffeine tolerance.
Hi! Just explained in another comment - I'm sure there's a more informal word for 'tolerance' I just can't quite grasp. You might say, idk, "I'd better switch to shandy, I don't have the blank I did when I was 20!" So 'tolerance' absolutely makes sense, but I'm thinking something more casual.

Sorry, I should have been clearer - tolerance absolutely does work, but there's a more casual/informal word that's on the tip of my tongue.
Someone with low tolerance is called a "lightweight."
